Sankta Kruco returns with her third studio album, “Voidal,” a dark and layered EP that confirms and amplifies the artistic vision guided by its enigmatic frontman and primary songwriter Sal Kruco.
Voidal is an album that moves between internal ruins and external collapses, exploring human decay, the progressive loss of respect for nature, and the irreversible consequences of a humanity seemingly severed from its roots. The themes of abandonment intertwine with those of memory, in a sonic journey that is both apocalyptic and profoundly intimate.
The album comprises five tracks, each with its own linguistic and symbolic identity:
- “Roma” opens the album with a dark liturgy in ancient Latin, evoking the fall of civilizations and the weight of history.
- “Lavinia” moves in a more narrative and visionary register in English, exploring human fragility, loss, and foreboding.
- Demiurgus delves into extinct languages, recalling the figure of the creator and his detachment from the created world.
- The Witch of the Dark Lake intertwines myth and anxiety, suspended between folklore and ritual darkness.
- Abyssar closes the journey with a sad instrumental drift, poignant and wordless, almost an echo fading into the void.
This third chapter also represents the ideal conclusion of a cycle that began with Glacialis (2018) and continued with Sidereal (2021), tracing a coherent and increasingly profound trajectory in the band’s poetics.
Voidal is also a work dedicated to the memory of the band’s photographer Marco Cappelli, who passed away prematurely and was featured in the music video for the single “Roma,” released in 2023 and now re-released as a visual and symbolic guide to the entire album.
Distributed by Ghost Record Label, which has followed the project since its inception, Voidal is available on all digital platforms: a journey into the void, where absence becomes form and the end merges with the origin.
